company and stillness

Company is coming for dinner and I told Wesley he needed to pick up all the toys he dutifully dumped out all over the livingroom.
"How come?" he asked.
"Because," I said, "we don't just want toys lying all over the place."
"But Mommy, the toys can be real still."

A bee sting, we think

So we may need to carry an eppi pen with us now, but we still aren't sure it was a bee.

This is about 10 minutes after the hospital staff administered benadryl and steriods. Wesley is a lot stronger now.

a grouch, I guess

I am pretty sure that every day this summer I have worn my hair up in a ponytail. So this morning I decided to try to get my hair decent-looking enough to wear down. Upon completion I asked my daughter if she noticed anything different about me. She paused for a minute and then said in question form, "Um, you're happy?"
