home

So this is the house we will hopefully be closing on by mid-March (maybe even on our seven year anniversary.)

Yes! We are going forward with buying our FIRST HOME! AND we won't even have to move. That's right, we are buying the house we are currently renting.
This (thank you Photoshop) is what I hope it looks like after we have all the windows replaced and either repaint it or put siding up. (Suggestions anyone?)

  3. Wahoooo! I love the red door. :) I hope it comes out just right. We're looking at the same timeframe for our own new house. I don't know which one yet. Good luck!

  4. You could always paint the door bright aqua blue to ward off the evil spirits the way they do down in "Nawlins" (i.e. New Orleans).

  5. I like the changes. :) And all your trees! I didn't realize how much I liked the trees until we moved to an area without any! (Well we have some but they're like two feet tall!)

  6. I'm so excited for you! I think your vision for the house looks great! You know, I would much rather be buying my first house than living in an apartment that looks like yours, so if you want to switch, that would be fine with me. Really.

  8. What about the monkey in the carport?

  9. The monkey came with the house. I found him in the attic next to the toddler bed.

  11. Congratulations!
I'd go with fiber cement siding; more expensive initially, but supposedly you never, ever have to repaint.
And I love the photoshop remodel; if only the real thing were as easy!

  16. Julie - I am so thankful that you've done this blog. I planned on going to bed about an hour ago, but couldn't stop reading. We moved from the Lancaster house in early 1994 and I haven't seen you since. Just by reading your blog I feel like I've never lost touch! Congratulations on so many levels - you have an amazing family, you're buying your 1st home and you are an amazing artist! Looking through the 20 you have posted, I was going to comment on the first couple that I loved them, but would have had to comment on all 20! I never knew about your Flagstaff adventure on our way to California - that's hilarious! I can't believe Katie is still living in Nanny's house!! The painting of the side view of that house looked familiar when I saw it, so I'm glad you mentioned that's what it was. I loved reading about all your cross-country adventures...it seems so you. I'm not sure which sister was struggling, but I hope things are better for her. Let them all know I say hello and think of them often! Jess
