I love my mailman

The postcards I ordered through came today. I was extremely pleased with their product and service and would recommend them to all my artist friends. I will be using them again this year to have some promotional material made.

I am anxious to mail/pass these out to all my friends, but I know it is a bit soon for that. Anyone who would be reading this should look forward to getting one from me soon though.
I think I am finally getting where I need to be with Chicken Yard (not sure that will be the title- I have been calling about six different things lately). I think my next post will show a small photo journal of the progression of that painting. A few days ago my little 5 year old daughter came in and said, "Mom, you have been painting that for years!" Not exactly true, I started it nearly one year ago. I heard someone say once that if you couldn't get a painting done in a year, it wasn't worth painting, and since I subscribe to that philosophy, I have set the goal to finish it by this coming Saturday.

I did a quick sketch yesterday of a scene I photographed several years ago. I was horseback riding up a place called Skull Canyon in Idaho . Oil. 8"x8". I realized just now as I have posted this, that the image I made of the painting isn't great. I will have to take another tomorrow when the sun is up.
